Account Deletion

Last updated: August 31, 2026

This page explains exactly what happens when you ask us to delete your FFmpeg Micro account. It is more detailed than most policies because we would rather you could check our answer than take our word for it.

How to ask

Email javid@ffmpeg-micro.com from the address on the account. There is no self-service delete button yet. We normally complete requests within five business days and reply when it is done.

If you have a paid subscription, cancel it or tell us to, so that billing stops before the account closes.

What we remove

We remove the information that identifies you:

  • Your email address, name, and password
  • Your sign-in records and any active sessions, so the account can no longer be used
  • How you found us: referrer, landing page, and advertising identifiers
  • The email address stored alongside notifications we sent you
  • Your details inside stored payment events, including name, address, and phone number

What we keep, and why

We do not delete the account record itself. We disconnect it from you and keep the history attached to an internal identifier that no longer corresponds to a person.

There are two reasons. Billing questions can arrive months later, and answering them fairly means still being able to see what was run and what was charged. And our own historical reporting counts signups by month; erasing accounts would silently change months that have already been reported, including in ways that flatter us.

What stays is a record of jobs, usage, and charges with no name attached to it.

Your files

Media files are not kept for the life of your account in the first place. Uploads are deleted automatically after 7 days and processed outputs after 30, on a schedule that runs whether or not your account is open. In most cases your files are already gone before you ask.

We do not watch or review customer media, except where we need to investigate a problem you have reported to us or where the law requires it.

Things we cannot delete for you

Some records sit outside our reach, and it would be misleading to imply otherwise:

  • Payment records held by Stripe. Stripe processes payments for us and keeps its own copies for tax and anti-fraud purposes. We cannot remove those on your behalf. You can contact Stripe directly about data they hold.
  • Database backups. Backups taken before your request still contain the earlier data. They are not used to serve the product and they expire on their own schedule.
  • Operational logs. Server and email delivery logs may mention your address until they age out.

After deletion

A deleted account stops being treated as a customer. It is excluded from our marketing and lifecycle emails, from product announcements, and from plan changes and credits we apply to active accounts.

You cannot sign in again afterwards, and the account cannot be restored. If you want to use FFmpeg Micro later, you would sign up fresh.
